The Department of Biostatistics & Medical Informatics focuses on graduate education and research to improve human health and well being. Our faculty and staff collaborate with researchers in the basic and clinical sciences throughout the School and Medicine and Public Health and across the larger University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

The department faculty train students in our Biomedical Data Science graduate program, as well as programs in the Departments of Statistics, Computer Sciences, Population Health Sciences, and Electrical and Computer Engineering; the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research professional degree programs; and the Schools of Pharmacy of Nursing professional degree programs.

Your generosity will help us further advance our department mission which focuses on:

• research in statistical methodology and computational methods for a variety of biomedical problems
• collaboration in the design, conduct, and analyses of laboratory, clinical, and epidemiologic studies and clinical trials
• graduate education and postdoctoral training
• ensuring sufficient infrastructure to support the department missions
