I have done research both in biostatistical methods and in epidemiology. A general theme for my biostatistics research has been the effect and adjustment for missing covariates (confounders). In the last several years I have examined the impact of unmeasured confounders on different models used in longitudinal data analysis.
The missing covariate formulation includes models for measurement error and missing data as special cases. Recently my research interests have expanded in these directions. Older research focused on the effects of omitted covariates in the context of pre- and post- stratification in randomized clinical trial.
In epidemiology I am conducting a 10 year follow-up of very low birth weight children who were enrolled at admission to neonatal intensive care. I have also collaborated closely on longitudinal cohort studies of diabetes, sleep disordered breathing, eye disease and function in the elderly after hospitalization.
